At Hensol Vets, we offer a range of other mobile veterinary services to ensure your furry friends receive the best care possible. Our experienced team provides consultations, vaccinations, and palliative care, all delivered with a compassionate touch. We also offer written and repeat prescriptions checks for your convenience. If you're considering breeding, our dedicated team can provide the support and advice you need. And don't forget, we also offer microchipping to give you peace of mind. Trust Hensol Vets for all your pet's needs.

Consultations

For our consultations, our veterinary surgeon will be always assisted by our veterinary nurse and they will visit you and your pet in the comfort of your home. They will dedicate their time and expertise to help you and your pet in a relaxed and familiar environment.

Our appointments are never rushed and we will spend all the necessary time to assess your pet and have a conversation about how we can help and tailor the treatment to the specific case and circumstances.

We provide a range of diagnostics to keep your pet in good health. From blood and urine tests to tissue analysis, we've got it covered. And that's not all! Our compassionate team specialises in home euthanasia and offer a variety of other services outlined below.

Vaccinations

At Hensol Vets, we understand that your pet's health is a top priority. That's why we offer pet vaccination services right in the comfort of your own home. Whether it's a 1st vaccination, booster, or restart, our professional and empathetic team is here to help.

Vaccinations are the first line of defence against the most common infectious diseases, many of which can be fatal. The delays with vaccinations due to the pandemic have caused that some of them are starting to re-emerge. Working hand in hand with Breeders, we want to provide the best possible care for puppies and kittens at this fragile stage of life.

Palliative Care

We understand that pets are part of the family, and when they age or face a serious illness, they deserve the same compassionate care as any loved one. That's why we offer palliative care for pets, providing professional and empathetic support during their final stages of life.

Our team specialises in home euthanasia, ensuring that your cat or dog can find peace and comfort in the familiar surroundings of your home. Let us be there for you and your beloved pet during this difficult time.

Written Prescriptions and Repeat Prescription Checks

Our written prescription service allows you to easily obtain the medication your pet needs, without the hassle of visiting the clinic. Additionally, our repeat prescription check service ensures that your pet's medication is always up to date and suitable for their needs.

6 monthly checks for ongoing conditions. 1*-3-6 months supply of medications for your convenience. *Note that some conditions such as epilepsy or severe pain relief treatments may be restricted by 1 month supply only.

Breeder Support

Our breeder support service goes above and beyond to ensure the health and well-being of your animals. From vaccinations to microchipping, we've got you covered. We also offer a discounted rate for breeders/multiple pet households of four or more pets.

Our team of professional and empathetic veterinarians understands the unique needs of breeders and provides the highest quality care for your animals. We are here to support you every step of the way.

Microchipping

We understand that your pet's safety and well-being are top priorities. That's why we offer a convenient microchipping service right in the comfort of your own home.

Furthermore, it is a legal requirement in the UK for dogs to be microchipped and registered in a national database by the age of 8 weeks. At present, it is not mandatory for cats (it will be in England from June 2024) but it is strongly advised, especially for our feline explorers who venture into the outdoors world.

With our microchipping service, you can ensure that your pet is easily identifiable and can be safely reunited with you if they ever go missing.

Peace of mind is just a phone call (or email) away!

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about our mobile veterinary services? Hensol Vets is all about professional, empathetic care right in the comfort of your own home. Whether you need home euthanasia or other services, we've got you covered. Check out our FAQs for more info!

  • What we CAN do as a Home Visit service?

As a Home Visit only veterinary care provider, we are limited with the things we can do. We can carry out full health examinations, vaccinations, provide pain relief, treat minor injuries and some diseases. We can do blood and laboratory testing. Please get in touch with us to discuss the specific needs of your pet and we will advise you accordingly.

  • What we CAN'T do as a Home Visit service?

As a Home Visit only, we are not able to provide intensive care, receive immediate blood test results (for urgent cases), surgeries, transport your pet to a hospital among other. Please get in touch with us if in doubt.

  • Do you do Emergency appointments?

We are able to provide emergency appointments. However, depending on the nature of the problem, we might not be able to help. But please, call us and if we are not able to help, we will point you in the right direction so your pet gets the appropriate attention.

  • What happens if my pet gets worse during the night?

We cover our own Out Of Hours, so we are always available over the phone. If your pet gets worse overnight, please, call our number and we will assess the case and see how we can help you and your pet.

  • Are you able to treat other pets apart from cats and dogs?

Unfortunately, we only treat dogs and cats. If you have a small furry (rabbit, hamster, guinea pig, etc) or another exotic (reptile or bird) there are two amazing vets in Cardiff (Origin Vets and the Exotic Department in Valley Hospital) who can help.

  • What areas do you cover for Consultations?

We cover the areas of Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Porthcawl, Maesteg, Pontypridd, lower Rhondda valley, Newport etc. If in doubt, please, call us and we will see if we can help.

  • How soon can you come to an appointment?

We always endeavour to offer an appointment as soon as possible and we always have appointments available on the same day. However, appointment availability depends on where we are and the urgency of the appointment.

  • Do you accept Pet Insurance?

Yes, we do. Insurance claims related to other conditions are subject to £24 administration fee. Please note that currently we don't accept Direct Claims and all fees need to be covered fully either prior or during the appointment.
